They are usually used as eye drops for people with glaucoma or high eye pressure and can be an option when other treatments are not enough. Beyond helping fluid drain, these medicines may improve blood flow to small vessels and reduce stiffness in tissues, which could help the optic nerve. They can also influence cellular processes that might support nerve health and repair, making them of interest for broader protective effects.
